County Line Road sewer work will cause some detours

Jul 20, 2023Jul 20, 2023

MEQUON — Starting this week, the city of Mequon has begun constructing a new lift station and force main on County Line Road from Tamerlane Drive to Granville Road.

According to the city, vehicular detours are anticipated to allow work shaft construction. Traffic detours are planned to route vehicles along from Swan Road to Donges Bay Road and to Granville Road. This work includes approximately 2,400 linear feet of 8-inch diameter sanitary force.

The project is part of the capital improvement plan where capacity improvements are strategically being made throughout the city to provide reliable sewer service.

"This sanitary sewer force main work will use a trenchless technology to minimize pavement impacts and disruption to your travels along County Line Road," according to the city. "However, roadway cuts are required near the lift station at Tamerlane Drive, in addition to road cuts for jacking pits to cross underneath the Little Menomonee River, and to make a connection at Granville Road."

Traffic control devices will be installed and a temporary flow control may be required, so the city encourages residents to travel safely through the construction area.

"Traffic control measures and detours are required for everyone’s safety and may cause minor delays so please be patient with the progress of our infrastructure project and please travel safely through the construction area," the city added.

The construction is anticipated to take 45 working days. Sewer service will not be interrupted.
